Me……. I race for me.

Whoa! This will be awesome.. You can get aluminum gear cases and counter gears now for these.

Re: .12 Nitro Monster Beetle
Cool! I haven't researched any upgrades for these "space age" chassis trucks..but I will...I would like to keep it as stock as possible and see what holds up and what doesn't, then just buy what I need for reliability...the only switched part so far is a frog counter gear (the smallest one)...luckily I have an unbuilt Frog I can steal parts from!....and it has an MIP Ball diff in itBattleTrak wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:15 pm Whoa! Re: .12 Nitro Monster Beetle
Are you starting with a rere gearbox? The pin dogbone outdrives look like it is.

Re: .12 Nitro Monster Beetle
That is the MIP diff. It only works with re-re dogbones or CVD's. The rest of the gearbox parts interchange.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:17 am Are you starting with a rere gearbox? The pin dogbone outdrives look like it is.

Re: .12 Nitro Monster Beetle
What did you do to the "pinion" section of the Frog counter gear to get it to work with the larger Blackfoot diff gear?

Re: .12 Nitro Monster Beetle
Had to do an engine swap...the red head hit the body, didn't want to cut up the body...hope this lil O.S. CZ is up to the task!
Had to switch the MIP Ball Diff for a Frog Gear diff...tranny/clutchbell super free...zero resistance
Also had to relocate the right rear shock to clear the engine mount...it will have brakes but that's on down the road
