The Kong, released in 1986, was MRP's foray into 1/10th scale monster trucks. Built in conjunction with Hirobo the Kong sported huge off-road wheels and tires and a high mounted Ford F-150 truck body on top of a Hirobo 44B belt driven four-wheel drive chassis. Independent front and rear suspension, adjustable camber links and oil filled aluminum shocks attached to the Kongs plastic tub. Electronic duties were handled by the included 540 motor and mechanical speed controller:

Hi Guys,

I bought some Tecnacraft turnbuckles off E-bay from Hong Kong.

They are not 4-40.

The diameter at the threaded section of an original Tecnacraft Turnbuckle is (4-40) or 3mm which fits

the Team Associated #6274 ball cups perfectly....

From memory, which is fading, I think there was an article showing a product for a conversion kit. The kit was for the HPI Savage and maybe other trucks available too? The kit turned your standard 1/8 sport monster truck into a large 1/6-1/5 monster...

in the era around 90's .............on-road buggies were very popular in Hong Kong ..........simply because of the lack of off-road tracks .........& also the easy cleaning up of the car after playing.......... :)

found some photos in a local R/C...
