Need pics of Team Ugly quick change battery setup.

Post by GeneralZod »

Hi everyone!

I am wondering if anyone out there remembers Team Ugly from way back in time for pan cars? I am rebuilding the missing pieces for the pull bar locking tab and battery tray but I am needing some pictures I can reference.

If anyone has some examples they can post? Thanks! 😊

I wish I did....because it sounds like somebody might be working on that unicorn Ralph Burch Jr. score! If so, I can't wait to see that progress....I'm still blown away by your last Hyperdrive build Zod.....Epic precision! I'll be searching for ya.

😀 nailed it! Yep, got the itch to work on it again. Just not having much luck with examples to go by. I may have to give it a guess and go from there. I was also thinking of leaving the motor the way it is with all the patina on it. Just clean up the internals. I was amazed how smooth the diff was after a good cleaning. Also, I may have to build a Bud's style wing. I dont have any vintage Bud's wing kits. I'll post some progress soon.

Hey Zod....maybe it's just me, but in lookin back on your Snuffy/Ralph Burch Jr. post...it seems there was a battery tray that slid/locked into the aluminum guide rails, tough to see on the b&w burch photos, but it looks like there was a tray on the hyperdrive hanging just over the left side of the chassis.....kinda reminded me of Morrisey's post on his Viper EX-10....not a direct match but....pretty close engineering wise. Hope it helps. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=48202

Thanks for the link for the Viper build! Sweet looking car and they are not seen often. Ok, now I have a few ideas. I will make a template out of card stock and get it mocked up.
