That's so good looking... but I just want to put a nice 6-cell side-by-side back there. :D

Re: Car#1 RC10DS graphite mid mount conversion

I spy a split bumper Camaro in the man cave! I have to resort to small rc cars to restore as my spare funds are rather small when married with children. :D Why yes you do see my 1100 wheel horsepower split bumper good catch. Got it done before marriage and children 😉 http://i722.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Trinity Tru-lathe 3 pro

Truing comms is a blast! I do them once in a while too, with the very eXtreme (=Early Hudy, sold by GM) lathe I had from last millenium... Can't help you on your specific Earnie lathe issues, but the tricks I remember for a good cut setup are: - nice clean bearings - wrap the pulley on as circular a...

Usually you can see Checkpoint armatures painted in red color but I think this was maybe more for Igarash...

Re: Motors from the crypt

Great post! Thanks for sharing the pictures, making it very clear to the uninitiated what you are doing.

Are you also zapping the can magnets and flagging to re-centre them?

I am going through the same rebuild process with a fair few of my old brushed motors.

Re: Motors from the crypt

MCI has twister decals too! i tried them ... they are 'good'. You can definitely tell they're reproduction - real twister decals are foil - so the repops look different. I bought twister, trinity, and leMans from MCI - The MCI trinity decals are a very nice match, the LeMans decals are also 'good' -...
