powder coated chasis

Well I decided to powder coat another chasis, I took the worst of the two I had and this is how it looks. This one is going to be the runner and Im not sure if Im going to do white parts or black, believe it or not I have mostly white thanks to a lot I won off ebay a few months ago, and the doner car I got around the same time. The paint is a little weird but I like to be different.

looks sweet, I have one very similar, only silver/black instead of the copper/black. I have never put it together, because I couldn't decide on what color plastic to use!

I like it!!! It's a great solution to the chassis that are in bad shape from years of abuse.

That looks great! I like the different stuff myself! It looks like the 'hammered' paint finishes out of a rattle can but better. How does powdercoating hold up to the abuse? I tore my buggy down couple nites ago and have a hard time deciding what to do with the chassis. Its got some heavy scratching over the whole bottom and figured it was a runner so no biggie but why not do something different with it. Do I have to sand down the scratches to get the powdercoating to look better? Or to make it stick do I have to 'acid' wash it or something?

Unreal,you will have a 1 of a kind 10 there.Please post pics when you have reasembled.A paint job on the body shell with some gold/copper and black would look tops.

I haven't run my other powdercoated chasis. Don't plan on it either. I chose this color for a few reasons, The guy had it in stock, it was different and a friend of mine has the same color on his quad. It has held up nicely on that so I figured I'd throw it on the Rc10. The only thing I did to the chasis before I sent it out was remove all the velcro, glue and grease. I did the same thing on the T2 chasis I had powder coated. Both came out great. I would suggest sanding the scratches if you use a color but if your using a style simular to what I used who cares you can't see it.

Thanx RC Chick. I have a friend of mine that works at a production plant that powdercoats parts for Caterpillar and other tractor companies. Right now I only have the choice of CAT yellow or black and the price is right (free) so I think I'll do some scratch sanding tomorrow . Looks Great on yours in that style but due to another big buy I have to make it looks like I'll have to settle for what I can afford .

The camera doesn't do it justice, but it looks like "wrinkle" effect.
I have a friend who does PC. And he did a set of valve covers for a friend. Gaves a similar effect. Nice job. can't wait to see the finished result.

Thanks guys, Its going to be a while before it gets put back together. I need a few parts, new hardware and rims and tires. Got no budget for it and I still don't know if I want to do white or black. Im going to take in some cans friday and order parts with the money.

I kinda think it looks like a granite counter top. The brushed nickel faucets at Home Depot always look nice with granite.
