In 1992 Tamiya brough out a revised version of their 1/10 2wd electric Formula One race car, the F102. An evolution of the all new F101 that was released in 1990 the F102 featured a longer and narrower black fiberglass chassis plate onto which the previous car's long fixed double a-arms holding undampened coil over sliding pillar front spindles and z-bend adjustable tie rods with a direct mount servo saver were installed. Out back the F101's stopper plate was removed to fit a new t-bar assembly which supported the four-piece plastic rear motor pod, all suspended by a single plastic bodied oil-filled coilover shock. Inside the motor pod was a 540 motor turning the pinion and spur direct drive with ball bearing differential. Foam sponge tires taped onto plastic wheels at all four corners while a clear lexon body covered the running gear with purposeful style. Molded plastic front and rear wings, a Mabuchi RS540 motor and full bearings would be included with the unassembled kit which would be offered in four different body styles, the Mclearan MP4x6 Honda, Williams FW14 Renault, Footwork FA13 Mugen-Honda, and Benetton B192:
