Tamiya, who made a name for themselves by offering kits with exceptionally high levels of detail, wanted 1/10 touring car enthusiasts to know that the same level of quality could be theirs with the purchase of a Tamiya polycarbonate body. Available in a staggering 52 different styles to choose from with 6 wheelbases and 10 widths that covered models from lowly Fiat 500's and Mini Coopers to Beetles and Miata's, replicas of DTM Mercedes, Alfa, and Audi race cars, JDM favorites like Civic's, Golf's and Celica's, as well as powerhouses in the shapes of 911's, Supra's, Skyline's and Mustang's, all based on a class that Tamiya had only created five years prior to this ad from 1996:
