what do you guys think......................

Post by scr8p »

so, i've been trying to figure out how to do the upper shock mounts on my trailing arm chassis. i had an idea of using angled pan car servo mounts to match the angle of the arm. so, i picked up a pair of composite ae servo mounts, and mounted them using the two holes in the shock tower. now, the pics are just for mock-up, to see how it'd work. i was thinking that a pair of 1.02's would work in the rear, but i think they might be too long. i'm starting to think that .89's might be the ticket.

so, what do ya think? pretty slick?

Looks good to me. Way to use your noodle. Just like old school racing, use what you can find. 8)

i would think that it'd have to be mounted like this so the shock wouldn't bind. if the top of the shock was at the stock location on the tower, it wouldn't pivot correctly. i don't recall every seeing a complete andy's trailing arm car to see how they did it.

i took one of the 1.02's off the front of my t3, to try on it. they are to long, like i thought. so, i guess i'll have to try the .89's.

the more i think about it, i wish i had gone after that andy's truck tower on ebay instead of backing out of bidding. the one mrlexan won. there's no reason i should have to use that short of a shock on the rear.

hoopty, i'll be over tomorrow to take the one off of yours.
