Pink Stripe on Box Art Body
Pink Stripe on Box Art Body
Working on my replica and noticed that there appears to be no pink stripe on the left side of the car like the one on the right side of car. Can anyone confirm? Check out the last two images.

Re: Pink Stripe on Box Art Body
i'm just guessing, but being as though the pink stripe is a pin stripe and not painted on like the other colors, the glue could've just dried up and the stripe fell off. or going along with that idea, it could've been starting to let go, and someone just pulled it the rest of the way off.
or.....................
the right side it just the thilly thide. not that there's anything wrong with that......................

It was a newbie driver and that's how he knew which side was which:
Port = Left = No Stripe
Starboard - Right = Pink Stripe

Port = Left = No Stripe
Starboard - Right = Pink Stripe

Re: Pink Stripe on Box Art Body
could be, but i am leaning more towards painted rather than stuck on pin stripes. Some of the close up detail shots at the end are showing some irregularities that I just dont think are possible with pin stripes (inconsistent wavy-ness)
That said, i would really like to get this figured out so I can go on to only SLIGHTLY more important issues like the economy, housing market and what to eat tonight.

you'd be surprised how wavy some of the low quality pin stripes are. it could've been cut by hand, too.gpster wrote:Some of the close up detail shots at the end are showing some irregularities that I just dont think are possible with pin stripes (inconsistent wavy-ness)
anyways, i still think it's a pin stripe.

I am pretty sure that these images have been confirmed as the actual body, but not necessarily the actual chassis.

Re: Pink Stripe on Box Art Body
If anyone noticed,......
The chassis in the pics is not the same chassis on the original box art car....However, if anyone remembers the pactra paint ads (most recognised on their spray can displays in hobby shops) the chassis on that rc10 has the chrome rims, and nose tubes that look orange, the machined ae logo in the nose plate, and uber rare spring cups. I believe that the old box art body was placed on the pactra bodied chassis from back in the day......
