Re: Slightly off topic
Tower lists them at $359.99

A hundred bucks less for brand new, unrun sounds like a deal to me.

Thanks for the info. Depending on what the wife says, I guess I might have to invest in a new hilift.

That's a decent deal but realize it doesn't end there. you'll need a four channel radio, esc and a hi torque servo also. Pretty soon you wend up with $1K wrapped into it.

NO!! DON'T!!Jschoenb wrote:Damn! on second thought, I might have to mull this over a little.

Getting the vehicle is the hard part, everything else can be pieced together without notice from She Who Must Be Obeyed.

My "she who must be obeyed" has been pretty good about my ever expanding hobby so far. I might be able to swing this especially since these will definitely appreciate in value.

She'd still appreciate it if you didn't tell her the value.Jschoenb wrote:My "she who must be obeyed" has been pretty good about my ever expanding hobby so far. I might be able to swing this especially since these will definitely appreciate in value.

Might take 10 years and the discontinuation of the kit to gain any value. I would never consider an R/C car a good investment. Unless the only thing you want to gain is a little bit of fun.Jschoenb wrote:My "she who must be obeyed" has been pretty good about my ever expanding hobby so far. Don't let Shodog's sticker shock scare you away. You can get that thing up and running for way under $1000. You can get a 4 channel radio for around $110. I assume you're not going to do anything stupid with it, so a $50 Novak ESC should be fine. A $35 Hitec 645 has more than enough power to turn that truck in any conditions. Anyway, you get the idea. Ultimatehobbies.com usually has the lowest prices on everything. You should ask the owner if he put ball bearings in it.

You’re absolutely right. You might be able to get it running for cheaper if you already have some stuff. The thing is that these trucks are so addictive that you will start indiscriminately dropping coin on all the killer available bling and before you know it, you’ll have some serious coin wrapped into it.MelvinsArmy wrote: Don't let Shodog's sticker shock scare you away.

Re: Slightly off topic
Those are some great lookin trucks. For realism I would definitely go this route if I had that kind of cash but most of my stuff has been run hard and put away wet(sometimes literally
