I'm Itching For A Losi Truck...

Post by FasterLouder »

I really need to get my A into G and buy,or build a Losi truck.
I only have one truck,my T2,amongst seven buggies!
I can convert my JRX Pro into a JRXT,or convert my spare XX CR into a XXT CR...Although that would take a lot more parts and work.
I know I should have snapped up all those cheap XXT parts on the 'bay,I can't even find a XXT graphite chassis on there, anymore.
Maybe I'll try and trade my XX CR for a XXT...And convert the Pro.

Anyone got an opinion on which way to go?

Convert the pro into an LXT, skip the JRXT, and if you go the XXT route, get the XXT-CR

Hey Joey!

Yep-I'd go for a CR,for sure,if I did the XXT thing.
What's the deal with the LXT?
Didn't that come out between the JRXT and the XXT?
Based on a Junior 2/Pro SE chassis?
What parts would I need to do the LXT conversion? Can't say I've seen much LXT stuff for sale.

Take a Pro SE chassis, put on wide arms (like modern trucks), change the towers to taller versions and truck wheels/mounts/body.

I *think* the pro se chassis MAY be longer than the Pro/JRXT chassis though. The experts will need to weigh in.

I went from an LXT to a XXTCR but still ran the LXT on the rough tracks. I always liked it better, maybe it suited my driving style better.

How funny my racing career is, in oval, I ran only 2wd mod and sprint car, on converted buggies. Offroad was ONLY trucks for the longest, I wouldnt touch a buggy for anything...now....I only run buggies (does a Slash really count as a truck?), my T4 sits in a box and collects dust.

The LXT had a chassis where you could run the standard wheelbase, or the longer WB. The shorter WB was dedicated to the SE buggy, longer for the truck, same chassis though. Of course if you had a fast track with not a lot of windy stuff you could run the buggy LWB too. It requires the use of a battery stop and battery loop to be bolted to the chassis. Also a spacer between the rear shock tower and the bulkhead.

The LXT arms are longer than JRXT, and are different than XXT's. Also the front wheels are different than the XXT. Rear wheels are the same. You can use the XXT front wheels if you install the XXT front axle. It had a different offset. The Front A-arms can be a booger to find though. LOTS of people really liked the LXT. They said it handled really well.

OEbdies are hard to find, and with the rear shocktower config, it can be hard to find any truck body to fit that doesn't require a lot of hacking. The only one I found that works that you can still buy is the XXTCR body. I will be working on getting an LXT body repopped soon though....

Building an LXT sounds like too much hassle,I think it'd be a lot easier to convert my JRX Pro into a JRXT...Got a spare 5-link rear end,too

I have a spare XXT I am willing to sell or trade. It has a few extra parts like spare tranny (for parts), arms, shock towers, wheels, tires. Most parts are used but good condition. Might need a few small things replaced (body, ball cups) but overall good condition.
