Front 2.2 buggy wheels to fit on 4mm shaft??
I'm posting here because I know that the Ultima has the same front wheel shaft size as the AYK buggy I'm trying to finish. It's a Sidewinder. I'd like to modernise it and mount 2.2. wheels on the front and rear. I think the front axles are 4mm. Exactly the same as the Ultima. I actually tried a set of Ultima wheel on it and it works fine...
I know there is an upgrade axle for the Ultima but I can't convert the AYK front axle carriers without serious hacking... So is there any wheels out there that actually fit the original Ultima front axles but that let you mount 2.2 wheels? Thanks for any help.
Moderator feel free to move this to the "other brand" forum if you think it's needed.

The newer 2wd tamiya front wheels are metric bearing, might be able to use one of them?

Thats what I'm saying... 4mm but I think Tamiya axles are 6mm right?

11X5mm Does anybody make a 11X4mm bearing? You might be able to use the stock bearings with the HPI front adapters to fit it.
OR use these:

The HPI adapters may be the way to go. The axles you showed are not going to fit in the AYK axle carriers...

Interestingly enough, ultima bearings and the bearings from the original rc10 (flanged bearings) have the same diameter. You may be able to find some 2.2 associated wheels that can be used for your car.
I've used numerous front wheels that normally use a 5mm x 11mm bearing on pretty much any model simply by using the HPI front bearing adapters (like aykbobcat said).
