High guys. I have a boat load of old RC mags, so I thought I'd share some RC10 related articles.

Here's an article about all the different RC10 transmissions. This was written before the release of the first Stealth tranny.

I have almost every RCCA magazine from 1986 to 1995

I also have lots of early mags like R/C Car and Competition Plus.

Hoopty, I have a bunch of old manuals for RC10's and some Kyosho stuff too. If you think we can get away with it (and you want to use the bandwidth) I could scan those pages and send them to you to contribute to the archive.

You mean these?

They've been just waiting for a NOS nylon diff case, idler gear and outdrives to be the ultimate diff... my favorite RC10 diff of all time.

I used to run these off road and dirt oval. They were AMAZING for the time, compared to the other diffs on the market. No diff ball slippage, and if you needed it, you could use the torque slipper to temper the power. I have always been a strong believer in that the best slipper clutch is your left index finger (or your thumb for you stick radio guys). I always wanted full power when I asked for it, not some mechanical clutch traction control.

Not many people ever even knew these existed, really. The MIP tranny was the father of the Stealth, but this planetary center section slipped out to the public really close to the actual release of the Stealth diff, which it did not fit.

I started searching for them many years ago when my interest in old school dirt oval items began to take a hold. I had some ideas about building a replica sprint car that I had run to an undefeated season in 1990. I missed out on a NOS Ascot cage kit a few years ago, and kind of shelved the idea after that. I still collect old MIP parts, because I love the products so much.

hey apex I got some concrete shoes in your size....

okay, but without the outdrives the seem pretty useless. Do you think there's any way thy could fit in the AE stealth tranny case?

I would love to have that diff with my brushless setup. The Stealt is not bad at all, but this would prob. handle the power much better.

I donno if anyone ever tried putting them in a Stealth, but I'd think if they still worked, MIP would still be making tranny parts. Just a hunch.

I have been trying to get my hands on a NOS MIP tranny for a while now. There were a lot of different kinds of outdrives available, so an MIP isn't the only thing you'd be able to use (Bullet, Raborn, Racer's Choice, etc). I do believe that Custom Works direct drive outdrives are the same I.D. as the MIP/Associated pieces. I do know someone who adapted the center section to a custom made diff for dirt oval racing, and it was pretty sick.

The rest of the tranny parts I need shouldn't be nearly as difficult to find as the center section was.

Oh, by the way, I bought the complete packaged conversion diff with the torque slipper for $9 on eBay about 3 years ago.

i bought a A L a couple of months ago for a shelve build and since then its in my almost to be finished beach buggy runner brushless lipo i got a few spares with it so a decent set of bearings and im bullet proof
