can you post a good clear picture of both sides of the board? that way we can see just how bad the corrosion is, that way we may be able to give you some suggestions.

I just couldnt wait. I got some 91% Alcohol, dipped an old toothbrush in it, tapped it out a bit, and lightly scrubbed. It cleaned up pretty good, so I got a little BRAVER, and did the same with the Lectra Motive. Well, now I might as well spray the hell out of it. So, I did. And just for good measure, I doused it a couple times with 91%. Im gonna blowit out tomorrow, and let sit for another day, or two. We'll see...

Then, I get to try out all this nice Vintage Treasure I just got!! WooHoo!! Wish me Luck!!!

"Cleaned" it Monday Night, blew it out Tuesday, and putthe Blow Dryer on it 3 times Tuesday Night for about 15 each time, turning regularly. Ive run the Dryer on it this morning also (Wednesday), for maybe 20 minutes, at a greater distance, turning regularly again.

Think its dry!?!?!

i would've just let it dry and hooked it up. who knows, if it doesn't work now, it might have been something you did to it.

Only thing that's missing is a momentary catch on the first limb, before completing the dive!

Off subject: I recommend putting a light over it for several hours, maybe a day. Longer time with lower heat is the key, better than short time with the hair dryer/heat gun in my experience.

Or if you are fortunate enough to live somewhere where it's blistering cold ...You just put in in front of the heater outlet for a few hours.

Good luck, I guess there is always Novak's great customer service...remind them that Tekin will still service 20 year old stuff.

That's what I keep hearing, but my experience with Novak left me looking elsewhere for ESCs. I had a GTB SS and apparently there was a little issue about high torque digital servos causing voltage to be generated when the wheels are manually turned going upstream and toasting some FETs. There was a several page forum thread on it and Novak failed to comment to defend themselves. When I presented what had happened to mine to CS when it let the evil smoke out of it I was charged full rates to get a new one because I wasn't going to settle for paying full price for a refurb either. They were nice enough to include an inline diode to prevent it from happening again, but through no fault of my own I was charged to get mine fixed because the warranty had lapsed even though the issue that toasted it was publicly known to be a defect. Maybe I was looking for much, but all the talk I always heard about GREAT Novak customer service left me a little bitter and owning a Tekin RS and LRP Sphere Comp instead.... Ok, sorry for the rant/hijack..

Nonetheless I hope your ESC works when you juice it back up! I'm thinking it will if it had never touched water when there was voltage to it.

Yeah, I'm not good enough of a writer to properly include the level of sarcasm that I was feeling as I wrote that. I was an active participant in that thread, mine, actually my Son's X-mas present, lasted for 4 warm up laps, massively undergeared, our first brushless. Came in to gear up some, my Son decides to change front tires, turn it on and all of a sudden we have a nitro truck…smoke and smells with the best of them. It unsoldered much of the nimh pack. Last summer a bud found out what happens when it’s a lipo, turns out you need a new car, receiver, servo, lipo, custom paint job…..at least it was outside. BTW ours was with a mid grade analog servo.

Yep, 2 guys from Novak are all over that site, very helpful, but somehow overlooked the most active Novak thread, even after several people made them aware of it. One of their sponsored drivers even threatened me by name and others, said the whiners would be noted, we would be denied service.

Took almost a month to get our refurbished unit, at least it was free. I called, they were very vague, denied any problem there as well. That was a fun $280 or whatever it was, so how was your Son’s Christmas????? (included a new truck and radio that sat, he didn't want an old brushed put in his new present, so more like 7 or 8 hundred smackers)

So now the Bongo Fury Racing Team officially recommends Speed Passion GT controllers. Mainly because my long term fav Tekin wasn’t out yet, that will probably be our next.

Guess I should have know better, I once tried a Novak T4, before seeing the light the first time and switching to a long string of Tekins, which were dramatically better in every way. Speaking of service, I had a ~18 year old 411P lose the BEC, sent it in with some others for new wires. Tekin has been in and out of business in the meantime, it’s not even the current owner’s product, and those were fixed quicker (and friendlier) than the brand new GTB. Turns out the BEC had only lost ground. I did pay for the service of course.
