MX4-BC is it any good???

a friend of a friend has one in great shape . but are they any good? i heard they are a pita to keep running. also anyone know if they take wheels that are readily avaliable. i see they have a hex nut instead of that 4 scew hub system. thanks

Eric,

MR4-BC ... if the wheels are mounted with a hex, then the "precision dish" wheels are installed. Unfortunately for you, only those wheels will fit. They use a unique mounting hub.

Hello ericsp2,

There is no car called MX4-BC :shock: but there is an MX-4 and a MR4-BC? They are 2 different cars, the MX4 has a carbon fibre chassis (http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=72539&id=23061) and the MR4-BC has a plastic tub (http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=79545&id=23061).

The original version of the MR4-BC used the same wheels as the MX-4 with three screws to hold the wheel onto the alloy wheel adapter, and then a nut to hold the wheel adapter onto the driveshaft. IMHO one of the stupidest wheel fixings ever! The high spec version of the MR4-BC (the "S" or Special) used a more conventional wheel, but is was unique to the MR4-BCS :(

Either way, neither car is the best handling Yokomo ever. The BC was good for me on grass, but broke rear belts often if not maintained properly and was difficult to drive due to it's short wheelbase & narrow track. Spares are quite easy to find it though. If it's an MX4, then I'm not 100% sure what they were like to drive (I've heard lots of bad things about them), but if you want to use it then keep in mind that spares are getting hard to find.

if you're talking a MR4-BX World's ... that's the current top of the line. Those go for some serious coin. I know there are a few guys here who currently race them. Hopefully they'll chime in and give a track report.

thats the one. the only problem is the wheel crap with yokes. know what i mean. lol

Bscotti do u happen to have a new or un grinded set of arms for the 94-96 modle i can have Dyno tech copy for us.

ahh, but once you step up to the current model, I do believe that the wheels use the standard, current method hex up front, pin drive rear.

Yes I do! I have both the 95 and the lightened ones for the '96 Pavidis.

The BX worlds car comes with Yoke hexes front & rear, but the fronts are a direct fit for Losi and you just bin the rear and fit a set of Losi axle roll pins for Losi wheels all round.
