Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
Looks like an Ultima Pro with a Triumph transmission. You could get the Triumph's tranny as a hop-up for the Ultima. It was like $100 and a direct bolt on. Looks like it's missing some parts, though. Nice grab.

I hope you're going to race this, it looks like a really well executed hybrid.
Desert gator body should fit on pretty well too

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
i need help to recognize the chassis i beleive its composite craft ,im trying to fit a radio plate to it and the ultima pro one i have is a 1/4 " too short.im curious to know if composite craft made ultima stuff as i mostly see rc10 stuff.the front end and rear end for ultima parts bolt on the holes properly so im kinda stuck as to what i can use for a top tray/radio plate for this one.

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
Remember, there's an ultima pro XL. From what I remember, the stock ultima graphite chassis were very shiney. The finish on that one looks similar to the CC chassis.
EDIT: When you look at the second pic, you can see how shiney the chassis. I'm guessing that the stock ultima pro XL chassis.

highwayracer

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
and to complete that: the pro xl does not have a top tray : only 2 short bits ;between steeringpost and front bulkhead and another on the rear bulkhead

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
ok so the xl is roughly 1/4 inch longer than the ultima pro.i had an ultima pro top deck that was cracked near the front .i made the front deck pieice from it.then cut off the back portion to make the rear tray.it looks decent.i will try n post some pics of whats been done to the car since i got it.its basically done besides changing the shocks and im gonna add some new tie rods to it.i wanna use mike dealer's idea to mod it to use 2.1/2.2 tires on it to finish it off, RB5 or just search for lazer rears that are yellow disk shape and hunt for some yellow triumph front 2.1's.

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
Highwayracer said you can use asso front wheels on an ultima as the imperial bearing hole diameter is practically the same as the metric 8x4 bearings outer diameter.
If that's still true for the later yellow disc wheels from asso, you spare yourself the search for the triumph ones. (I think the yellow of those will also better match the current lazers yellow)

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
i was thinking to use the vintage lazer rims as they are also 2.1 i believe.but your idea is also a good one.here are the pics ...
i hook my mamba system up to test out all my vintage builds lol

my front kick plate i made from an old ultima pro top deck that was cracked...

the rear deck is made from the rear piece of the pro top deck ,just cut straight off and rounded the edges...

here it is next to my other ultima pro...

it seems so huge, almost rc10t like with the pro a-arms. needs a front bumper and perhaps some newer rods and ball cups.

Re: my recent ebay score some ultima parts car
I'd go with the kyosho ones: mixing up imperial and metric is allways cumbersome
