What not to do when bored. RC10
So, on layoff with nothing better to do, I... opened the box.
Sorry about the size of the pictures.
Half complete, and resting back in the box.

I am going to build it, just not sure what to do with it after that. Right now I am working on it, trying not to scratch anything, or trim anything too much.
I was thinking about measuring a few of the nylon items and making aluminum parts for my runner.

Is that an unbagged shock rattling around under the rear of that oh so shiny chassis

That it is. It slipped back out of the bag, but will soon be mounted.Synergy wrote:Is that an unbagged shock rattling around under the rear of that oh so shiny chassis

That buggy looks fantastic but I question your sanity. Did you start off with a new in the box kit? Kinda like taking $300 and throwing it in the trash because that's how much you just devalued your buggy.

I say go for it! Much more fun looking at a new built car than just pictures on a sealed box. I feel the same about people who have rare 1:1 cars with only 20 miles on them. whats the point if you cant enjoy them or at least touch them.

My thoughts on a NIB kit is that sure it's nice to build a kit but I thinks its better to preserve it NIB as a reference. there are plenty of new built examples that can tickle your fancy but very few NIB kits

This is a NIB kit, yes. A few years ago, I purchased 2 6012 kits and an RC12LW kit.shodog wrote:That buggy looks fantastic but I question your sanity. Did you start off with a new in the box kit? The 12LW has been built, and now this RC10. Both are going to be static displays.
That leaves just the one 6012 kit left.

I'm sure there's enough 'reference' kits out there, Shodog.....shodog wrote:My thoughts on a NIB kit is that sure it's nice to build a kit but I thinks its better to preserve it NIB as a reference. there are plenty of new built examples that can tickle your fancy but very few NIB kits
Build looks great, Dir_wolf...... and will look very nice on display. Course, would look nice covered in mud and dirt too, but from a different perspective..... and that's what you have runners for, I imagine....

Be certain to properly define 'box'....AscotConversion wrote:You can't have fun with a box
