Jason,

This is Mark's(RCHRs co-owner) RC10 at RCHR, before the Vintage Nationals in CT. Mark was running laps as fast if not even faster than guys with newer buggies...

If you do your homework, which I sure you've done, these old cars can still be quite competitive. :D

Why is the racing line spray painted on the track surface?

Yea Freddie i saw that, Mark kinda inspired me to race my old one. It's pretty complete i just need to get the spindles and axles. Then send a body to my painter.

He said the old cars have alot of bite. I am pretty excited to mess with it at the track.

That just goes to show you that driving skill and practice really make a car fast. Nice work.

Last weekend I raced on this....

The only thing I broke was ballstuds(???). Anyway, being an on road guy, I cased the crap out of everything, and the car held up great. My driving, not the car, was the only problem I had.

i ran a rc10 team car graphite this winter and qualified 10th in the A and finished 9th. At the 2 minute mark i was in 4th before getting in "the big one" lol. my car turned excellent. my car will turn times as fast as my b4 but......the b4 is much for forgiving and easier to be consistent. i got it on dvd maybe i'll put it on youtube....
it sure is neat to gid up in the a main with a antique though!

I also ran mod truck with my rc10t and won the B-main. i finally gave it up and ran my t4 where i was always around 5th in the A. the thing i noticed about the T is it ran good but wanted to pull wheelies and i really missed not have more adjustments.

I have not raced my car, but have had it out for practice a few times. It feels very planted, Jumps nice. I think that the little extra weight it has to carry helps is a little in the whoops section.

I might be racing it this summer a few times outdoors....I will have to see. If I race anything it will be the old RC10 gold tub, the T2 or perhaps my slash.

But the cool thing about the old car is that everyone comes out to see it run.

When the #s are there, at my LHS, we have a vintage class. The cars do surprisingly well. Most folks are running RC10s. (There is a guy looking for a used Losi JRx2 or similar if you have a used runner fs). Several of us, run buggy, one or 2 have 10ts.

I notice that my car has a lot of push, (partially due to setup) but I manage to get around fairly quickly. I have adapted many current parts of the b4 over so to run more current tires. The last time I raced I managed to break 2 ballstuds. I think its due to my suspension configuration and the tension on the tie rods.

A fellow vintage guy (who is a very good driver and often top in 4wd) did drop in a BL setup into his vintage and raced it in the buggy stock class (mostly b4s and XXXs) and did win.

Check your LHS and find out if anyone is interested in getting a Vintage class going. Our group has a blast!
