Rally Cars
Rally Cars
I just picked this up recently on Craiglist. I drove about a hour to pick it up and ended up spending another hour talking rc with the seller and tinkering around with the car before I went home. Its actually a Celica Gr.b with the Porsche body set ( best of both worlds in my humble opinion , Celica's upgrades with the Porsche body) with extra wheels , rally tires , manual and Magnum Jr. It was very well maintained , the only problem I could find was a quarter inch crack on the body's rear bumper and missing spoiler. All I did was wipe of the dust and tidy up the wiring. Its actually faster than I thought it would be , did some nice drifts in the parking lot.
Any rally fan's? Lets see some pics. Group shot with Hpi Rs4 Rally's.

Re: Rally Cars
Nice find, that's a classic. Tamiya should re-re these.

Nice score there!Body is in good shape.
I may have an extra rear wing for that. I'll take a look this weekend.

Re: Rally Cars
You sure? I has the Porsche front body mount and the Porsche wheels? Flip er over and see which the skid plate is, Celica or Porsche (they were different).pituk wrote:Its actually a Celica Gr.b with the Porsche body set ( best of both worlds in my humble opinion , Celica's upgrades with the Porsche body)

Re: Rally Cars
Looks to be a Celica. It has the celica drive shaft(one without the dogbone style ends)
If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.

Re: Rally Cars
I love the HPI Rs4 Racer. The Tamiya ones were ahead of their time. I Dig the Porsche.
I would love to get my hands on some of the older ones, namely the Celica Rally.
I have an RS4 Rally as well. i love that car, prolly the car i had the most fun with. Its got all the upgrades. Im thinking about digging it out to run at my local track again.

Re: Rally Cars
what a great find. If you plan to run it much, then you should invest in the aluminum suspension parts off of ebay. The front arms and and knuckles have plastic that is not UV stable. My new built shelf sitter even has a broken knuckle just merely from sitting.
