For sure on the planes flying, jets are off and on out there, but if you have never seen a rc jet fly it's cool as the the real thing, the speeds they hit are unreal (200 mph). We are in the process of getting the track lined up. (needs to be rebuild) nothing a good weekend and a bobcat can't fix. Not sure how much of the facilities will be completed, but at least there will be a track to play on. When it gets a little closer I will have a better idea of how this is all gonna play out. I am still looking at June 12th. I hope the hanger is up by then so if it looks like rain we can go under cover. I am going to try to line up some tables for everyone to use for swap meet or shelf queen show area.
Hey Rick came across these on r/c tech, thought they may help fire up MORE to show. I've raced at this track just not back then! In the first vid about 2:30 in you will hear about a guy in 3rd, Jason Ruona before he was know for a company called JConcepts!
AWESOME VIDS BRO!!!! got home last night and my Tamiya Sand Scorch kit had arrived. Back in 1982 I bought a new scorcher, it was my first rc car. I have been stuck on RC racing ever since. To open the box was like a time warp, be see a scorcher BRAND NEW again WOW. I really love the old Tamiya cars. Even though I am a Associated fan.
Looks like a date change for the vintage get together =" June 26th "at Eli Field in Monticello, Illinois. Don't know about having water and power by then. but we do have a track laided out,it will set up for short course so it will be vintage friendly, so bring a ezee up and a grille and lets just have some fun. The event will last most of the day so bring your shelf queens for us to drool over. Bring parts for the swap meet. This is" NOT " a race event but the track will be open to play on ALL DAY. Ahhh major bummer. That weekend is the SCCA June Sprints at Road America, which means Keith and I are both out. Too bad, we would have really enjoyed this event.
