What's the most you've ever spent on r/c in one day?

4-figures many times whilst doing the RC Shop crawl o/s, haven't yet hit 5-figures

And that was before getting sucked into 1/5 Bajas too...

You know you're in trouble when... you've bought too many boxes to fit into the car

I feel cheap when I read some of these posts. I can't remember as its not something i've ever kept track of but i'd say in the $300 or $400 range on an order from Tower.

I can never justify spending a lot on R/C in a single sitting. It makes my wallet and I feel better when the costs are spread out over periods of time.

People who know me will be surprised that I have something to add here (because I'm a cheap-ass), but my largest was $675 to buy brand new over the counter my Schumacher Nitro10 truck, back in 1992. Scary to think what that price would work out as in today's $$$.... probably enough for a Baja or similar......

Scarier still that I still have it...... and no, it's not worth $675 now

Even scarier still (if that's possible), that I spent this at Hobby Place in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Australia..... and this was the cheapest price available in Australia at the time! (Those that know the shop will understand that).

I think it may have been $150 for my charger. I too like to spread out the r/c purchases and bargain hunt.

My wife is into photography and we've laid out over $2000 on three different occasions: (1) a used Mamiya medium format camera and several lenses (actually a great deal for what we got), (2) studio lighting, and (3) Canon 20D and lenses. I shudder every time I add up what we've spent on this stuff.... but I still can't use it to justify any of my r/c splurges.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Unfortunately, it wasn't worth $675 the moment it was pushed across the counter. Just the nature of buying new products. Well, unless you can get NoThumbs to buy it from you, then it's worth double ...

anything higher than 500 for me and the pucker factor kicks in.

that being said, i think the most i've spent was around 450 for a geeked out fusion speed rc10. either that or i'm blocking out from memory.

Just shy of 700GBP on a 1/6 scale nitro for my son about 6 years ago with all he needed for it to run. 40mhz radio gear with 2 high torque high speed metal geared ball bearing servos, failsafe, batteries, fuel and starter kit. Soon adds up. worst of it was he was too scared to drive it so ended up selling it a year later for alot less than what was paid for it :(
