Hey Scr8p let me ask you about the original stealth gears, I have a stealth tranny with white gears and they look like a real fine pitch. Then I have 2 other stealth trannys with black gears with not so fine a pitch. Are the white ones just original gears?

thorp and robinson made 64 pitch conversions for the stealth trans. either one of those is probably what's in your trans with the white/fine gears.

There was an aftermarket Delrin idler gear years ago, I think I still have one in my truck. It pressed onto the stock shaft.

This is the white gear case open next to a black gear. The black gear doesnt have as fine a pitch and I notice the top shaft has the same type of pitch and the thread is longer. I also notice that white gear trans spins much smoother even though I have better bearings in the black gear trans.

from what i remember, the topshaft from the robinson 64p kit was black. so i'd have to say your is a thorp kit. those are the only 2 i remember having 64p stealth conversions.

Also is the 64p good to run on a big course with a lot of power?

i'm certain it's not 32 or 48.

they're 64 pitch, and i wouldn't use them in anything but an oval/onraod car. but that's just me.

You can also upgrade to the newer bronze thrust bushing and main bushing (the bearing seems to bind with it). The spring and nut are the same.

Thank you, got it all ordered up.

Has anyone tried to pop off the pinion gear from a top shaft. I spoke with RPM and they said it was possible, I figure I can try and pop the RPM off and put it on a T4 shaft, allowing me to run the T4 slipper.

Just experimenting.....

It should be possible, sure. Assuming the mating style of the gear and shaft are the same on each shaft (it's possible they use the exact same shaft), the only issue you would have is getting them apart. A hydraulic press would probably be needed to get the two apart, and then get the two back together again. Using a hammer and a bench vise could damage them no matter how careful you are.
