I don't know about other states but in the detriot area when the lite turns yellow then red . Three to four cars run it every time. 24/7 . Been going on for years. WTF.

You should see what NC Motor Carrier enforcement is like ( I am sure there is 95% similarities ) They stopped me with an 18,000# plate with a 24' enclosed race hauler ( 85% empty ) and still did a full check, axle weights and contraband search. 1/10th of a mile from my shop, and all that they could site me for was "Diesel motor exhaust restriction non-compliance" Which meant, they didn't like not seeing the Cat, or the Turkey Fryer sized muffler not where they would have expected to see them-

I'd fight that one . After market OEM parts.
