My wife says "You suffer from an over-abundance of personality." You're completely right though. It gets 95 degrees here with heavy humidity and I got tired of dripping with sweat trying to get a pull start running. That's why I don't own any nitros anymore...

im thinkin either the tiger drive system, or im going to find a socket that fits the one way bearing and attach it to a cordless drill.... it should work... if not, the welder is getting busted out and ill build a starting system.

Just before I converted mine to electric I removed the one way bearing from the pull start and attached it to a nut driver and drill using one of these flexible shafts. Worked like a charm. (and yes I realize that is one of the dirtiest posts ever)

you would use a flexy shaft to try and drive a nut!

The only cars in my garage that run are the ones I'm currently racing. The rest are retired to the shelf.

I keep my two shelfers ready to go even though I don't use them. I just have one that I actually run. So, my cars are either broken down into a pile a of parts or all ready to go and actually "set-up" to some degree. IMHO a proper shelver should be ready to go even if it isn't removed from the shelf. That being said, I only have 3 built RC10s. So.....that is easy for me to say

mmmh

racers sure are runners

- xray T3
- B4.1
- MBX6

then there's the occasional runners

- original tamiya boomerang

Image

- trx-1
Image

- Kyosho trail blazer (my 4y.o. loves it!!!)

then there's a bunch of shelf queens, two of them could run but sure won't as everything all the way to mills is brand spankin' new (Yokomo YR4GP + Hirobo Alien Mid4)

then there's the fully restored ones that have full electronics and were supposed to be ran but never will due to the amount of effort that went into the restoration (yrf2, Imagehunter, ...)

then there's the even bigger bunch of projects in miscellaneous stage of completion... from pile-o-parts in a box to fully equipped ones that are 1% close to being on the shelf queen shelves...

then there's the ludicrous amount of NiB's - most of them will remain in boxes forever as I swore I would not build them UNTIL I have all the projects completed, which will take at least another 40yrs lol

overall... count less than 5% of runners I'd say

Paul

PS1: I also have an RC sailboat and a plane... does that count???

PS2: In two weeks I'll have a rc10CE runner for regular driving too!

give me 5 minutes and anyone of my cars will run.

but on average i have 4 cars going and the rest of them are in waiting.

so i'm a 100% runner.

I have 33 rc cars and all but 1 run and they are all vintage and all on the shelf and all have period correct radio gear. 100% of my airplanes and 100% of my boats run.
Those are my toys and no I will not share!
