Yes, extra full tranny case, 4th gear/bearings/shaft, shock tower, wing mounts rear bulkhead parts...
Loving this car. I was so disappointed with my paintjob that I spent 1/2 hour with some nitro fuel and returned the body back to clear . Talked to my painter, he is gonna lay down something nice for me...letting him decide.

i take it that you got one as well darryn?
Hi mate, yes - should be here today or tomorrow.
I joined the Australian TLR team the end of last year. I had some really good results on an interstate/national level last year as a "privateer" in the 2wd class (I am on the Durango team for 4wd 1/10th) and was on a high. What made me even happier about making the switch is that about 3 weeks after we reached an arrangement - Losi announced the 22!! To say I was rather happy with the new deal was an understatement. I also run their 1/8th buggy and truggy and really like the way they handle. I saw an early "22" prototype here in Aus early this year at the J-Concepts race, it looks SUPER plush in the suspension department and is extremely good in the air.
Really looking forward to hitting the track with it, It is kind of cool that I have returned to Losi after all these years - I always loved the way the Losi handles compared to the Associated product...(just a driving style thing - not having a go at associated)

I havent built it yet, (arrived an hour or two ago), however here is a pic of some of the "evolution" that Losi are talking about on the 22's box:

When I am finished building - I will snap some pics with all my new built early Losi's - should make an interesting pic, where you will be able to see what the major changes are from then to now.......theres just a few!!

Not yet, body will go to the painter this week to get re-shot. Then I have a week off coming up, I will hit the local indoor track for some much needed wheel time to get used to this beast.

JK Racing wrote:As some of us have done, what is an AE build without a couple Losi parts on it? Let me return the favor ...AE B4 diff screw and t-nut "fix" my diff issue. (Spoke with the Losi Team manager yesterday, they have a revised part already in testing). You can see a little white plastic in the diff
Since I was preparing for my next series race, I didnt take any more photos. I can tell you the first battery pack through the car was my first qualifier . All I had time to do was check steering trim and run it. Found (after) I had put the front caster blocks on backwards. So 25 degree front kick up shim & 10 degree caster blocks should have given me 35 degrees (yes, a set up mistake on my side), but instead I had 15 degrees....So I fixed that, and swapped to the 20 degree front block to give me an acceptable 30 degrees of front kick.
Car is VERY easy to drive and push hard. I had exchanged my defective Novak motor after the last race (love Novak warranty), but this one wasnt near as good as the last one. So I struggled in qualifying, missing the A main by 4 seconds. Just to tell you how competitive and close we all were, that put me 8th in the B!!! Swapped out motors with my Xcelrion 17.5 and geared it up a couple teeth (recommendation by a Team driver who was testing no-timing stock). Well, between the much stronger/faster motor, blue groove coming up quite well, traction at an all time high....I didnt check my slipper for the main. It was slipping really bad (like 8-10 feet) and I couldnt make any of the jumps properly. Once it did grab, I was flying around quite well. The set up changes and little tweaks recommended by the team worked fantastic.
I ham fisted the original diff screw/nut combo and stripped them. The AE B4 stuff is 2/56, the new Losi part is 2mm. So for a temp fix until the revised parts come out, I dropped the B4 stuff in there.

Very very nice. I am glad to see that it seems to be driving like Losi said it would. Looks like Losi is back on the ball with this one. I just wish there was more racing, or even a track in my area. Eh, I think I might get one any way, always loved my Losi buggies. Can't wait to see what your painter comes up with, I didn't realize that Nitro fuel was that effective, looks like it was never painted!

I know this doesn't qualify as vintage, but I wanted to do a build thread on the 22-4 because of how similar it is to the XX4. It's essentially just a modernized version, and the last of the unique 3 belt 4WD buggies. Today all of the 4WD 1/10...
