That roller looks great! No gold shocks on your build though?

The blue nylon c-hubs are from TeamLine. The build is not about to start any time soon, I need to source some missing parts, might go for custom gold anodising on the alu parts and I haven't made my mind about the gold or equalizer shocks yet... Long-term project as always with my builds. A new baby at home doesn't help with spare time availability. Not even mentioning the wife that is never happy when I go down in the basement even for an hour... This hobby is too often misunderstood by ladies (the related thread in the off-topic forum is pretty interesting, lol).

Looking good man i can see that you recived the teamline hubs. Get some new rear hubs instead of the LA-28 get some SP-107 should make it look a bit nicer they are easy to get SP-107V are the same and also LA-304 same thing different number.

Iso forgot to mention the rear hubs make the back end fractionally narrower and aids the cars handling. It does look good as well. :D

Update for you guys re the chassis. FIbrelyte are currently making me a mold again as their store room was emptied and appears my original has disappeared, mmmm wonder where that went to......still its going to be made for me within six months and then when I am happy with it this will be readily available again if anyone is up for one.

Very small update as I slowly keep on gathering parts for this project. I managed to find two ball diffs, stainless steel screws from RCSCREWZ and two new replacement kevlar reinforced belts from Tough Racing. I built the shocks too and the diffs, they feel soooo smooth. These later equalizer shocks are really really nice and smooth shocks!

I also started disassembling the donor chassis and horrorfully discovered while comparing the COMCOM chassis with the stock one that the two holes where the rear plastic chassis stiffener on which the top deck is bolted on is attached do not match between the two chassies. Were there different hole patterns between Lazer versions? I'm really concerned about it I must say  Any Lazer guru could shed some light on this issue?

Anyway here is a new teaser!

The rae upperdeck mount are as you say in 2 positions depending on
lazerzx/zxr and lazerzxr MKII/zx-rr chassi

The later ones have the batts 6mm rearward and so thay have moved the rear upperdeck mount rearward,

They have different motorplates ( shorter) and the upper deck is longer to compensate all things..

Hi,

I like the saddle pack solution you have there. Are the carbon holders home brewed? I actually have a set of those plastic fasteners. What car does those come from originally?
Cheers

Carbon holders are from COMCOM/Fibre-Lyte and I don't think they still produce them. Plastic fasteners are originally from Schumacher Pro Cat and other models

Ok finally managed and it has taken me a long time to get my correct user name sorted so bye bye Kyosho Fan2 and hello me!!!

I forgot to mention earlier that the pictures show the battery holders on the wrong side of the chassis, so would advise moving the left to the right and vice versa as they are designed to sit following the lines of the chassis.

Anyway other than that some news. As you are aware I designed this chassis and a year back was sent the original first proto that I used, ok broken none the less but good enough to make a new mold of it to get it made again. If anyone has the original mold it was stolen and taken without my consent as it was my property being held at fibrelyte until no onger needed. I paid a substancial amount to get the original mold made in 1991 and guess what am having to do the same again.

We are close, and I mean close to the mold being completed. We are now finalising my first concept for testing at the Maritime Winter Championship based on the very first weight distribution I originally used (this design was never sold to anyone, including ComCOm) this year but if all goes well in my build the chassis will be ready.

Price is still to be confirmed but I will be the first to know so will post the cost when I post the pics. The mold is a solid item and all who want one will need to specify what chassis and layout you want to be cut out in the tub. Its really that easy. Also the weave will be stronger than what was originally made compared to the Com Com version you have here.

Sorry its taken so long but will be worth the wait.

I will post a picture when its here.

Do you have any pictures with all the gear installed. I need a picture as ive been asked a question relating to servo space before my test chassis is made. Please can you post it here for all to see. Thanks.
