I read the same thing,that the parts were from different cars..I reconized the rear universals from the losi jrx2..My only gripe about this car is changing out the pinions..You have to take the 2 trans halves apart...I never drove a dirt oval and I am really curious about driving it... However, I would not want to drive it with this body..Im sure it would be nearly impossible to find a trinity body like this....I also dont like the 4x2 battery configuration...xanadu wrote:The reflex was Trinity's first car, but about the only thing they designed was the instruction manual. Jim Dieter was already producing the car under his own name. Most of the parts on it are from other manufactures and I think that made it much better. Every part was the best from the box. ( A&L steering, robinson caster and steering blocks, Losi drive parts and turnbuckles, Trc shocks and body mounts) The rear engine layout was there to put more weight on the back tires and the rear toe-in was adjustable to really help get traction. Trinity's version just changed to black nylon instead of the white that it was before. They are so nice and well built, that it would still be just as competitive today.

Re: trinity reflex10 Jack Johnson
hello All,
Jim's original car was the R&R Titan. Like everyone said, it used a lot of losi parts along with a schumacher diff. The titan had a 5x5 slot chassis, while the reflex had the 6x6. The titan I owned had the stock losi bellcranks and castor blocks....while the trinity version had the bb steering and robinson steering/castor system.
The titan parts were machined in white nylon...but I dyed mine black
I beleive Doug (eau rouge) still has the orginal prototype parts tucked away in his basement somewhere.
I've never had to disassemble the trans to change the motor or swap pinions. I don't think there were many differences between my motro plates and the version released by trinity.
As far as the timeline between this an the intimidator....it's hard to say which came first because Jim may have been using this before the CW car came out.

Re: trinity reflex10 Jack Johnson
It should have the motor plate and on the opposite plate, a square access hole to get to the motor screws. Was the access hole covered somehow? All you should have to do is take off the right rear tire to get a clean line to the motor screws. They are a pain to get the pinions at the right depth. I just used a makeshift spacer to hold on the motor as I tightened the pinion. Also (I never did) people would drill a hole in the nylon housing to put a pinion wrench through it to change them on the car. EDIT-Looking back at the pictures, you have the square access hole. Everything is right.

Re: trinity reflex10 Jack Johnson
Yeah, I didn't think of a large pinion. My problem was always finding a small enough pinion so that I could make the time with a mod motor and average batteries. I just dug out the manual for old time sake and looked at the gear chart. For a 10 turn motor, it showed a 10 tooth pinion. For a slot machine stock motor it showed a 21 tooth pinion. I was using a 15 turn motor with a 15 tooth pinion. I loved those days.
Also, the older Custom Works bodies fit well and are still pretty easy to find. This is the camaro body. My baby;

Marty, you might try pm'ing him. He might have his notifications set to see it in his email. But otherwise it looks like he was around in late August so might be lurking around here and there...
