Nice win man. I was watching that one but decided a Rad 2 was not for me.

Will be curious to see how you build this one. Keep the updates coming.

It'll be a fun bugy to build. I will start pretty heavily after Christmas on it. I need to get the kids' Christmas presents first.

I have a Hawk2 and its an awesome truck! The only thing I do NOT like about it is: no bellcrank steering.

Who got the TRX-3 a week or so ago from ebay?
That dog outbid me until I had not enough money the last second.

Nice RAD by the way... Those spare parts (battery tie bar and servo mounts) are rare

The steering is my only complaint as well. Other than that it looks great and has all the adjustability of other brands.

I was outbid on that trx3 as well

I didn't know the rad had any rare parts. I'll have to be sure and save those.

I ran my hawk2 for a while completely stock. Mechanical speed controller nickle battery and 30-Turn 540 motor.

Now I have LSII shocks (Long/X-Long), Novak Rooster speed control, 550 21-Turn motor and yesterday I solder the deans connectors for the 2S Lipo battery.
Man it runs great on lipo! The motor does not get hot anymore like it did with the 3000mah nickle battery I had before, it runs faster and longer. Very pleased with it now. When I punch the gas from a stand still it pulls the front wheels off the ground an inch or so even in the dirt with an 18/81 gear ratio

Very cool. I love the old stock Hawk bodies. I want too get a hawk later on down the road and get the body from TBG.

I'll be using the Rad2 for racing in the vintage class. Eventually I will have a TCP to run, but until I find one I'll use the Rad2.

 . The only problem with building a WOIN with traxxas is that nothing newer than the TRX3 is anygood to work with  .

I had my eye on that rad or yours for the battery bars since I know they are getting harder to come by but wasn't gonna get into a bidding war over them 8) .

I might just have to put one of the rad/rad2 back together that I've been parting out over the years...when I get done with all my other projects

There's plenty of good parts on the newer Traxxas vehicles. STRC, Rpm, and a few other companies make them.

I saw those videos Sunday night. Fun track you have there and your wife looks like she can wheel that Hawk pretty good.

A wound car is a "What's Old Is New"

Basically take an old car, install new parts from a newer version. Like an original ultima using a new ultima gearcase and diff.
