RAD2

Post by vwjuice »

I finally won an auction. I have been scalped every time the last couple years. Well this time I went all in and finally won this RAD2. I already emailed fiber lyte to have a new TRX1 chassis made and I'll be purchasing a new body and wing from TBG. Now to source down some TRX1 shocks and then tear the buggy apart once it arrives.

I see that Gomachv tried to scalp me at the last second, but I was ready for him.

Here's some pics from the ebay listing.

While that does sound like something I would do, I was not a bidder on that one!
Looks like a great start, congrats 8)

My wife is Native American and she always threatens to cut me when I'm sarcastic with her. So I've become accustomed to being scalped. Haha

Polinimadness is my eBay handle. Dates back to my much younger (much skinnier) pocket bike riding days.

I'm pretty full up on projects right now!
-zerda rebuild
-3x ultimas
-rc10 pan to anno
-bullet fwd
-t2 from nip parts
-couple pan cars

And that's just what I've touched in the last week

My first real R/C I bought was a Rad2. I still remember opening that box.....and then smoking a MSC shrtly after and having to save for another month to buy a ESC replacement.

It wsnt a good experience but not fault of the car. I was about 12-13 and got totally jerked around by the guy at the LHS. ( which is still in buisness under a different name (Discount hobbies Oshawa)). Then I was introduced to a local track and the world of r/c was opened to me. I dont know what happened to that car, I think I may have traded it for a rc10L or bolink eliminator to race carpet with the bigboys.
Overall I think I would compare it to current traxxas vehicles. :D

I think I traded cars about once a month back then

I have pics and video on VHS here somewhere

Well I'm pretty excited to get it. I can't wait to tear it apart. I always wanted a TCP and especially an SRT so this will fit the bill until I find one of the others.

It looks great, it does make me miss my first performance rc car. Many many years ago I recieved a High Rider corvette for my birthday which I hated I traded it straight across for a used Traxxas Hawk with the short front shocks. Now that truck I had a blast with and looking at that Rad2... makes me want to get another white tub traxxas for my collection :) That Hawk eventually got traded on a clapped out Junior Two which was my first Losi.
