Not sure if this car survived the fire
This car lives but is soaking wet! New electronics freshly installed of course! I think my wing buttons are melted though!

Looking good Rod.
I need to come see you to get some bits for mine.
Bearings for steering at the very least.

I painted the body in my colours and took some pictures before I beat it to death! Met up with VintageAE today at the local basher track and I knew it would not look the same after!

Maybe it broke when I hit ya? That car is running good and smooth. I enjoyed meeting up, I was nice to get out to the track again.

Slotcarrod's RC10 ReRe's

Post by vintage AE »

Got my two RC10s cleaned up from wednesday. The Toyota is an OIN build and the Halsey car is a Classic. We should have got a group shot but I was off and running the Classic before Rod got there. My OIN car took a dip in a puddle at the end of the day, but she's alright, no damage.

This is my body off shot. Not shown is the Worlds type servo saver I added after I sheared off two steering crank screws and one servo gear set in separate crashes.

This is the crappy Losi Hydradrive gear cover, all shattered.

This is the RPM vintage Stealth Hydradrive cover with the new RPM Stealth VTS cover. Looks great, fits the VTS perfect and will not cost $70.

I also drilled the correct holes in the rear bulkhead for the ballends. You can see it in the RPM gear cover pictures above.

I kind of don't like how the RPM covers don't have a lip that wraps over the motor plate. They butt up against it so it's impossible to get them 100% sealed since there's bound to be a variance in how flat the motor plate is and how flat the cover is. It would be amazing if there was a thin bead of rubber gasket around the edge. I just got one too and had debris inside after a short run.

I have no problems with the fit. Mine is flush and just minor dust gets in, but mostly migrating from the motor breathing. This is normal, but I like your idea of a rubber gasket. I think Traxxas implemented this?

Ha ha, it's just a decal I got on eBay. UltraHive makes them for $5 each. I think they help make a brushless look vintage.
