Thanks for the kind words guys. In build-up news the chassis and parts arrived today!

In my 5 mins before work I didn't have time to remember how to operate my girlfriends camera so sorry the pics had no flash...

Gratuitous picture of the Tecnacraft wing...

Temple is sending me the front tires I needed which I thought were TQ70's but now think from closer inspection of the manual that they have round spikes not square ones...any idea what they are?

Also final question, please can someone give me the dimensions of the drill bits I need for the nose-plate.

Nose tube holes =
Servo mount holes =
Countersink =
Chassis mounting/bellcrank holes =

Thanks a lot.

Ed

Ed,

I use a #33 bit for all of the 4-40 holes (nose brace, servo mounts, battery cup, antenna & tranny) and a #19 bit for the 8-32 holes (suspension mounts, bulkheads, body mount & bell cranks). For the countersink, I use a bit like the one pictured. Associated's 8-32 flat head screws have 100 degree heads and the 4-40 flat head screws are 82 degrees.

Good luck with your build!

Paul

Just might be me, but on a project of this intensity, I'd use the proper countersink bits with the proper head angles for the screws you are using.

That's just me, though. ;)

You make a great point, Eau Rouge.

The content above has been edited (and yet another order  is being placed to McMaster-Carr for a new bit for my build).

Thanks a lot guys.

I have solved the problem of rear bulkhead spacing by emailing Fibre-lyte about it and requesting the 3mm carbon washers that used to come with the kit. They are now sending them to everyone and if you have one and need the washers (Asso_man!) then I suggest you drop them an email...

The Fibre-lyte spacers, Quarter Flash arms and arm mounts, etc have all arrived and I might get time for some of this build this weekend, though probably not.

Cool Cool Cool Ed!! :D

Make sure (for your lungs and skin's sake) you wear some gloves and a facemask when cutting/drilling the carbon - that stuff is as nasty (almost) as asbestos.

How many FL tub cars do we have now?? Mine wasn't unique for long eh? ;)

I will do mate, I am just trying to complete a few other bits and bobs first as I don't have the money to buy the drill bits and face mask yet!

I might mock up the rear end this weekend though!

Sorry no updates, I am still searching for the MIP ball bearing steering in white and I haven't ordered the drill bits and countersinks yet...

Well a couple of people have them on here on random builds and I am trying to swap a Losi bell crank set and some money as an incentive...

Is that a good deal, I thought so but no bites yet...
