Luke's Procat rebuild
Thank you for your kind words, Jason
I've learned so much that I can apply to my new Kyosho FS2... but that won't be ready for at least a month. Until then I'm going to keep racing the Procat like it was intended
I see you're selling your spares... are you weaning yourself off the vintage Cats? It's very difficult saying goodbye to precious vintage spares

Re: Luke's Procat rebuild
You're welcome Luke.
I've been buying up cars and parts for these cars for years. I have finaly finished all my Schuey builds so I figured why not turn out whats left over.

Good stuff... so are they retired or still raced in anger from time to time?
I think I have enough spares to assemble a complete front diff like the one in my Procat... dare I sell it? I've got a brand new overdrive pulley, alloy super hex diff washer carriers, B-Fast flattened Losi plates, carbon fibre pulley fences and I think some 3mm ceramic balls. I'll have a look tonight so heads up everyone
Something I don't have for my Procat is the alloy H-bracket that goes between the chassis decks... or this beauty...

Once they're gone they're gone!
By the way, those diff parts cost well over £40 and some time and effort to collect. I don't have any more spares of those parts so do check them out...

Schumacher super hex diff v. MMS diff
Hello, I had a question about the front diff I'm selling and how it compares with the MMS diff...
- The Schumacher diff has machined alloy washer carriers (more precise, stronger and heat absorbing) whereas the MMS diff has nylon (plastic) carriers.
- The Schumacher diff has twin ball bearings housed in the alloy halves instead of the single centre bearing in the MMS diff.
- The Schumacher diff can take a belt up to 6mm wide if you want to do my modification. On the MMS diff the pulley guides get in the way. I have a spare 6mm neoprene belt if you want it.

- It is supplied with an 'overdrive' pulley, which gives more 'pull' round the corners. Again, this is what I use in my Procat racer.
- The pulley fences, if you wish to use them, need to be superglued onto the pulley. I carefully sanded both before gluing and they've stayed strong so far...

vintage Schumacher spares
In case you haven't seen them yet, these auctions are ending this weekend...
saddle trays
I'm swapping to saddle packs for my Kyosho Lazer FS so I drew some new trays and straps for the Procat.
They can be used wit the existing posts so hopefully it won't cost too much.
I wonder if the different weight distribution with saddles will improve the handling e.g. less body roll?

same low speed damping, less pack?
In the Procat the front currently has No.3 pistons and 37.5 Losi oil. If I wanted similar static damping and less pack i.e. less resistance at speed, could I put in No.4 pistons and 40wt oil? Those plastic plastic mounts just don't transfer the force as effectively as carbon fibre and alloy so when I try to harden up the front it feel 'grotty'
