PROCAT - Rebuild

Post by Dieseler »

I've just been looking at rebuilding an old Procat and seem to have most things except the rear wing mount. A few questions:

1.Looking at the new CAT SX, the part looks adaptable but wondered if anyone else had tried?
2.does anyone know where I may find some Bosscat red or black rear gearbox plates?
3. Are MMS diffs (with the notched front pully to keep the belt central) still available?
4. Can anyone else remember the over chassis belt conversion kits for the Procat? They came with adjustable length front upper arms.

Sorry for all the questions but im new!

What were the colour of the eyes painted on the model driver's eyes on the first box-art RC10?

I have a set of near near new silver side plates and a set of new purple works also. As for the 'belt over the top' chassis,I think this may have been a factory team item only. Maybe they were released but after the procat came the Bosscat and they wouldnt have been worth much to anyone. I think that conversion was part of the evolution process from Procat to Bosscat.
Probably the only parts from the SX to the older cars would be the ball studs and grey cups.

I've read all of this forum now and see you are the Schumacher guru Bormac!

I had the over chassis kit on my Procat but just as soon as it was fitted the bosscats were released. I sold the Procat for £90, I was 16 and it got pi$$ed up the wall! We live and learn.

I've sent you a PM c.f. the side plates.

Hi Dieseler,

The CAT SX wing mounts will fit straight onto the Bosscat rear shock mount, which itself fits straight to a Procat, so if you get a Bosscat part, that's one problem solved.

MMS went out of business years ago but I've got a bulk load of NIP MMS parts, including loads of Procat diffs so drop me a PM and we'll sort something out.

The Bosscat motor plates only came in red, purple & silver, it was the Procat plates that came in optional black.

Hope this helps,

Ian

I can't believe it, the car I got has a front MMS diff already! It also has a slipper clutch which I didn't think was around at the time. It's different to my Bosscat slipper too!

I'll post pics soon.

Anyone have a front belt tensioning plate they could sell???

Thanks,

Neal.

Hi mate,
Are you sorted for diffs now or do you still need an MMS rear one?

Cheers,

Ian

I'll have a look this weekend as I havent opened the the rear g/box yet. The front looks MMS (white Nylon with the recess) so i'm hoping the rear has been changed as well.

It's been originally built by a bafoon though! Kyosho screws, bolts right the way through the front gearbox, guled up bits and pieces.

All from when new parts would have cost peanuts! It came with a bag of 50-60 front black rubber bands though if anyone needs any?
