Dynamic Models Suspension Car

First half is here. The seller could only find a box big enough to safely ship the car. The body is in a separate box and hopefully here in the next few days.

So far what I can tell it looks to be in really good condition. Biggest downfall I see at the time and I'm not sure how to get rid of it is someone tried cleaning it with a very abrasive wool or a very fine sandpaper so the top and sides of the chassis are swirled. I don't like that so I'm going to try and remedy it. any suggestions would be help. Not as big of a problem but on my list to do is strip the black paint off the bottom of the chassis. Any suggestions here also would be nice. If its the D.O.T. 3 brake fluid method I hope it works better than the body I'm working on stripping cause the paint on the body isn't going anywhere fast.

Anyways onto the pictures. Quality isn't the best I still need to replace my real camera. Relying on my IPhone for now.

Cleaned and rebuilt trans







Stripped the paint off the bottom of the chassis (most of it)



And the swirly top of the chassis, I'm thinking if I sand blast it at a low pressure it might give that cast look again?



And rebuilt the engine (was in surprisingly great shape)

That car is absolutely awesome: very nice engineering.

Was there ever a 4WD version (why would it be using rear bulkheads at the front too?)?

I wondered that too but I think it was just for the simplicity of not having to make more/different parts for the front.

Nope, never a 4wd version just like you said for ease of manufacture they used the uprights all around. Very nice car not sure why it has the side pods from the sidewinder version, most had magnesium squares cast of the same material as the main chassis.

The side plates do look like the same pieces that would have been on the Sidewinder model. Also this car has an external clutch along with the internal trans clutch. I was told by a guy that the external clutch is not factory?

The information on these cars are so little I can't tell what's what or if there were certain years released with different parts used from other models. All in all I still think it was a good buy.

I have some instruction sheets but I'm not at home so can't get to them until next weekend. Maybe you already have the build sheets.

Been a little bit since my last update. I got the body earlier in the week. Was in worse shape than was described, and the paint

Anyways I didn't have much motivation to mess with it after my poor success of trying to strip the paint off another body. I did however notice in the super thick paint a couple pieces that were hanging loose. Thought I would stop before I got too far for a before and during progress pictures. So far I got a few hours into the body. This is going to be my really bored project.

The side plates do look like the same pieces that would have been on the Sidewinder model.

I also found one that had the sidewinder aluminum sides, may have been preferred setup when running a Can-Am body?

Almost ready for paint. A little more final sanding in a few spots to get some of the deeper scratches out. Was more cracks under the super thick paint than I first noticed.

Not sure if I should go with a simple orange with number plates or try and do another old school looking paint scheme.

Yep. I think just the orange will do but I want a darker flatter orange not something so bright it looks like new Lamborghini or something. I want it to look old.
