RC10T - Bringing back the fun

I tested NIX10MT again tonight and found a combination that works. The RC10GT lower shock mount and rod end on the turnbuckle are a working combination. Going by shock tower to shock tower NIX10MT is 3mm longer than a standard RC10GT, so GT bodies fit like pictured above (previous page). You'll have to hit Jeff (GoMachV) up for a rear tower which needs to be a GT style tower with 10/10T mounting pattern. Early style GT bodies require a narrow style tower and the GT II body and later fit the wider style tower.

This is excellent info mate thanks.. I might be doing one early next year for occasional racing unless it's a real advantage over my race 10T... Have the lower mounts just to decide on body an rear tower then You made it all come together,It's hard visualizing without mocking up for the full effect... Thanks mate

Hey mate, just to clarify what position did you put the nose plate in? And the rear shock being on the opposite side of the tower compared to the 10m is that purely for body fit? And you have it in short wheelbase at the rear, is that just personal choice ? Thanks mate and nice work

Hey Bully,
The nose is in the short position, same as the later trucks.

The rear shocks need to go on the front side to fit the standard GT bodies, I'm not sure about the longer blue chassis bodies as I haven't tried them.

I used the short wheelbase as it's roughly the same wheelbase as an RC10GT (within 3mm I think) and with the GT shock mounts the shock angle/sweep is correct.

I have a GT2 body that I bought by mistake, I can measure and compare the shock tower humps if you like?

Well with nose in the long standard truck position with the arm mounts in long ,shocks on the rear of rear tower and no GT/T2 lower mount and bb shocks the GT2 body fits sweet. Did require a little taken off rear tower (to get the body to lower over the tower properly)but apart from that nothing else is needed.. Will get some pics asap,I haven't done any body mount holes yet. Waiting to tap the nose plate front holes an will see which is best for that body. I did also get that tower TS15? GT style body also, but it definitely needs the shorter nose setting like you have shown mate an shocks the same as shown.. With the small bore v2 shocks discontinued i got some V1 bb shocks when tower had the big sales over xmas which is why I went the longer style body first Will get some pics of the different ways I end up going with for each body though I think you have it right with the older body style

Oops I totally forgot to measure the body for you, looks like you've got it all sorted though. I haven't touched any RC's in over a month. The GT2 body must be quite a bit longer as that's a fair difference in wheel base.

All good mate,I'm really liking the 10M builds so far. Both the cf an aluminium are very well set out and keep the simple aspect we all love about the RC10... Have to get some pics soon

Long setting with GT2 body. Stuck here waiting on a 8/32 tap

Settled on the short nose position,long rear with bb shocks on the rear with the GT2 body,have mounted it so it's staying like that now. Tried everything to get the tower GT knock off body to work but with the bb shocks it's not possible .. Will get pics shortly

Wow, that looks pretty good Bully. The GT2 body must be really long compared to early bodies !!

I wondered about big bores, if there's a will there's a way

Small bore no problem but the bb rear are not going to work for me with the tower ts15? body... Whether it's the body,me or the bb I can't get them to work with the standard parts. The only thing I think could work is spacing the tower back from the bulkhead. Anyway it will take me awhile to get the truck track ready I need a B2 style servo horn etc so I haven't given up on the old style body yet.. Can't use it for anything else so I will work it out sometime
