- Big Boy Toys Sprint Car resto (update 4 March 2014) -
Re: - Big Boys Toys Sprint Car resto - (update 27 July)
that is sharp.
my pops had a BBT sprint car, but IIRC it used the stock nose plate.
those cars were awesome to watch at the indoor clay oval we used to run on. the most scale lookers at the track.
nice work!

I know that too, but I would like to keep the black MIP ones as I do not have the smaller ones or maybe someone could trade them... I thougth about using another front shock tower, but couldn't come with anything that would work properly. Eventually I will just use internal spacers and call it a day as I do not plan to run that big boy.Eau Rouge wrote:And shorter front shocks.scr8p wrote:please........ pretty please....... put short front arms on that.

Here is a very small update on this Bad Boy with the addition of dyed black front small arms together with an anti-roll bar. I still need to fix a few details on this one, but it's going in the right direction. The 0.71 front MIP shocks actually work quite good there... Now where is the body and wing?

Re: - Big Boy Toys Sprint Car resto (update 21/06) -
Finally scored some proper sprint car wheels after years of searching. Price was sweet as well
Tires look in good condition and a bit of elbow grease will bring them back to an almost new shape. They should take a slow boat accros the ocean very soon
Tires are MRC Grand Prix, but what about these alloy wheels?

I had a pretty heavy snipe on these but they went for a decent price I think, although not a true bargain either. I'm happy but I also see some dents on of them, nothing that elbow grease can't fixJohnboy72 wrote:Glad to see ya win those. I was watching but never pulled the trigger.

I was the third highest bidder on those and was pretty close to throwing in another bid that probably would've left me 2nd highest.
Not bitter though....just hope I don't have to wait as long as you did to find a similar set for my sprinter. Gratz.

So the wheels showed up today and I immediately gave them a quick polish and cleaned the tires. These look like new actually, just some small blemish here and there.
I also added the Cheetah castor wedges and I must say it getting close to completion now with the exception of a few missing screws and I also have to replace the front shocks with shorter ones. Next steps are also mounting of a front wing and lastly putting some electronics in there. Then I'll call it a day
