I am only partially back...... work is keeping most of my attention hostage these days. I am slowly trying to get back into the swing of things.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Prices popping up on web sites for pre-orders is between $189-250, but I'm guessing closer to $189 since Tower was the $250 and they always jack up the price before release.

Maintenance free and bulletproof so it can handle hot brushless motors?

adjustable, yet no slip and usually stronger than ball diffs. This is the standard setup in larger scale race cars.
If this fits a standard t-4 gearbox I bet a lot of oval racers will give it a try.

After comparing pics of this to the slash, I think the SC10 has a better looking body.
I wouldnt mind picking one up just to look pretty on the shelf.

the slash is still cool imo. i doubt you can bash the sc10 at a skatepark like you can the slash...

and something waterproof is pretty sweet when you live in the winter wonderland that we do.

I'm really liking the price, it's a kit, I love building and most of us have electronics we prefer anyway.
The only big question is how will it fit in with the slash class?
The SC10 doesn't have the high CG chassis like the slash so my best guess would be the AE truck would make a great "Pro2" class which either chassis would be allowed with maybe a 19turn motor, then the boxstock slash class that we run around here could be a seperate class, maybe call it "Pro2 lights" kind of how it's sorted out in real CORR (or whatever it's called now, forgive my ignorance). I really like the way the RC hobby is sorting itself out, it feels more like the days when the heavy metal class was around before the LXT and rc10t carved out the truck class.

Aaaaahhhh crap! I'm about to get passed by that orange truck!

From the official press release, the fine print:
Note: SC10 shown equipped with items NOT included in kit: Reedy battery, XP servo, pinion gear, LRP ESC, motor, and receiver. Body comes clear. Assembly, painting and decals required. Team decals sold separately.
And actually it's a sensored motor so nine wires...

I'm so glad I didn't pull the trigger on a Slash. :D

That's one of the coolest new r/c's I've seen in a long time. Good thing I really don't have anywhere to run one around here or I'd be getting one. An SC10 class at a track would be a blast. Scale looks and performance is a good combo. 8)
