this little bugger is starting be be a tad costly...

i think i'll go with the new novak spread spectrum esc and a 6.5 velociti motor. i'm tempted to get the 5.5 just for grins.

i do very much like the mamba max 5700 system. i like how i can run it at 2s and have a nice little bit of power, but i can also run a 3s lipo and its a monster...

well i got a spektrum dx2.0 system and a novak spread spectrum esc w/ a novak 6.5 velociti coming in the mail along with paint and other tidbits to complete it with. i payed way too much for another set of matching ta machine wheels on ebay so i can put these back on my sassy queen.

i'm also switching over to deans, apex should be proud.

i got a big box from tower today. :D

the novak components look pretty cool against the red and aluminum. the velociti motor is pretty damn sexy looking...

now all i need to complete is a power supply and a lipo battery or two. (and of course putting it all together...)

That is one nice tuber, badhoopty. My hat's off to you. You're a brave man to actually drive that fine ride - with a velociti 6.5 no less!

Hey, where did you get those shock clamps and cups? I acquired a set that looks just like those along with an eBay purchase some time back, and I've been trying to track down another set.

they came on the kyosho shocks. i dont know much more about them than that.

i'm sure scr8p or eau rouge (apexspeed) or somebody with more than my ebay knowledge could tell ya.

as far as running this thing, i wont be jumping it at the skatepark but its definitely going to see use. lake michigan is right down the street, and its got lots and lots of nice sandy beaches and wide open parks. you just got to ba carefull around all the darn goose droppings...

Thanks. Man, I can see the rooster tails now. That will be fun for sure.

Darn geese. They're all over Atlanta too - apparently year 'round. They may have come from Canada, but I think they have moved in for good. Nothing will mess up a good fun run more than a close encounter of the turd kind. Sorry, I couldn’t resist…

i'm not sure if these are the same ones as on hoopty's car, but they look pretty close. the description says they're for the big red dampers, though.

those arent the same. mine are more curved around the edges.

anyway, i almost got it all put back together, just waiting on a 4000mah lipo and for tower to get some darn protechs back in stock... i have a body on it already, but its more of a template for the next one i trim which i'll make little tweaks too so if fits all killer. i'm gonna paint this one anyway since i cant get another for who knows how long.

i made a nifty lil' roof for it out of .040 lexan and cleaned up the bottom chassis plates a little bit more. i briefly considered polishing everything, but kinda like the dulled out machined look and i'm also way too lazy to polish everything.

i ebayed another set of t/a machine wheels for it that have street tread on them.

i'll get pics soon. its pretty badass...

little update.

got all the elecs put in, just have to rebuild the shocks and get 2-3 bodies to hack up and make the final body with. i'm undecided whether to do a real simple basic white paint job that i know i can pull off, or try to paint it with some flair using the novak color scheme. i'm not the best painter in the world, and i also very much like white and red...

anyhoo, spektrum tx/rx/servo, novak spread spectrum gtb esc, novak velocity 6.5, maxamps.com 2s 4000mah lipo (SWEET).

sry for the crappy pics, the flash was blowing everything out so i turned it off and cranked the shutter speed.

Have a look at this paint, not the colour or scheme but the concept  I think it looks great, it would show off all that lovely tube work.
