Re: My Vintage RC10 Buggy a hole lotta pics

Post by fastang »

Thats alot of great info RC10resto, much the same as I have been telling him through pms and such. I think its a great car with nice patina and I would changeout the incorrect front end parts, clean it up some more and call it done if it was mine.

I have a couple of those mec speed controls on some of my shelfers but I havn't run one in 20 years. Could it be as simple as indexing the wiper arm on the servo mount? Wide open is on the left isn't it? IIRC the wiper arm starts on the right and gets faster as it swipes to the left. counterclockwise? Maybe half the resistior is bad?

I don't think I would play much more with it anyway! Too Risky!

This the steering bellcrank, speed control, fiberglass batt. straps. I built this from a kit in 1984 or 85. Although yours is a bit earlier, it should use the same parts.

I only bench tested it, then shelfed it. I had many other cars at the time and it seemed to nice after building it to run it. I soon traded a frog for a runner rc10 that i used to bash around with. This is a current photo. I posted pics of this car for my first post http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6642

Here is a more current photo with a new body http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=94125&sid=23318
