Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion
Hi I made new shock tower in graphite and front support in nylon:

For the rear I use old cut support, and made a graphite tower, now I need to adjust a strong fixation of the wing mount:

And fixation for the lipo with front/back adjustement for the weight:

Bye Pierre PRP

Awesome ideas there Pierre! I like the battery pack position brace very much. I will copy that idea for certain.

Wow,nice work!
VintageRacer-you don't need those belt rollers, they even omitted them from the Worlds Edition kit.
Put the money into a set of Tough Racing belts,I really like 'em and haven't snapped,or stretched one yet..
Love the XX4 truck,too!
Be cool to cut and extend a chassis and maybe use XXT arms?

Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion
to my knowledge they only omitted the belt rollers or bearings when they went away from the black rubber belts to the green worlds edition belts if you are using the tough racing belts i would be thinking you should be using the belt rollers/bearings?
I keep meaning to try this but my green belts are holding up very well still.

Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion
I tried the rollers with my 1st XX4 years ago, just because they 'should' be there, but the belts didn't last longer, the car wasn't quieter and I found a little more off throttle braking, but that's just my experience with 'em.
I don't run them with the Tough belts,I think they might even get hung up on the rollers,'cause they're a bit wider than the Losi belts.
99.9% of XX4 owners don't run them, put it that way.

Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion
I fitted the rollers to one of my cars with the tough racing belts, ran a full meeting with no probs and very happy with it.I thought they might be a bit loose without the rollers as they are thin compared to the green ones. Was great to see 2 XX4s on the track, mine and Peters, shame I cant drive,I did the slowest lap time all day but I was taking it easy and just trying not to crash[thats my excuse anyway].I fitted a different front end for the next meeting with CAT arms. Also came accross the trinity motor clamp, titanium turnbuckles and tower braces.

Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion
Nice cold weather body you have there!
Good to know the rollers work with the T.R. belts,if anyone else wants to run that combo.
What's the deal with the Schuey front end, don't think I've seen that trick before?

The shuey arms are a direct fit
they come in different "flex" too, most guys run medium flex.

Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion
Cool,thanks.
What's the advantage of running them?
The XX4 is a damn fine handling car, probably its best feature, the Schuey arms improve it?!

More durable than the Losi Graphite jobs?
How does it effect the suspension geometry?
