looks good.

i just cleared a huge area that was overgrown for years. i think i'll just make it like a uk track, very short grass but with dirt jumps.
the plastic jumps look kind of trashy out in the yard.

i should pave it. it would make a nice on-road track.

i bumped the lane width out a foot more on this layout so i'm right at 7ft. i'm not going any wider. i may let it grow again and try something else....idk. 78x28. that straightaway is loooooong.

adding the pic again because of the page change.

I wonder what the neighbors think about the weird guy who mows different designs in his lawn each week?

It'll make sense to them once there's cars running on the track. Then they'll wonder why a grown man is playing with toys in his back yard.

I've only just seen this thread. What an awesome project!

I love the curved track. I think the modern square corner tracks with just pipe work between the tracks look lame. If I were you I'd keep grass in the middle, lovely clay surface, smooth radius edges to the track. Might even be fun to have a jump over a bed of flowers. It is a lovely garden after all. Keep the missus happy too :D

Out here in AZ if we mowed grass short like that, it would turn brown.

Looks good. Soo... is that platform the drivers stand? The one with the table and chairs on it.

looks good. that far end turn, if someone were to miss that turn, would it be someone's driveway? would be really cool to be a banked turn there.
