Re: Vintage Traxxas RUNNERS only
I'm loving that TCP body! The B3 body was close, but I think the Traxxas body looks way nicer! Are you missing the aluminum wing tubes?

Great to hear from you Harry. Yes I'm missing the wing tubes and wire. The body is not a traxxas body, its a trx-3 repo CobraKen made. I bought it from him in the UK. It's a really nice thickness and spot on. I'm very happy with it. I hope he sells more and keeps making them. I want to send him an SRT body for him to clone/sell. I'll have to work that out with emaxx2.0 and ken though...
Re: Vintage Traxxas RUNNERS only
I finally, got an awesome wing mount for the TCP!
The wing mount from a Shoemasher KR

So happy with this! First I trimmed the wing down to a good size, then I worked on the shock tower... The holes drilled to fit in the shock tower was easy because the upper holes lined up perfectly and only needed to open the top to fit 1/8" and then drill the slot for the lower dowl to fit. I'll be ordering up a new wing mount to replace the one I stole.

Re: Vintage Traxxas RUNNERS only
An update: Wendy helped me solder all new connections on esc, motor and battery. After that, I made a esc mounting bracket from G10. This bracket allows me to mount the esc without being in the way of the battery removal/install

My ESC was too tall to fit in the side regular locations and I really like this esc and so I devised this plate without altering the car in any way.

Its a very tight fit under there!

Got front and rear fiberlyte shock towers. Installed the front tower... Fit great, easy install...
Still haven't installed the rear tower because I have to drill the holes for the wing mounts...
This is a wider tower than factory and provides 3 holes for shock positioning. Looks and feels bulletproof

Took the TCP apart to clean it

...decided to show the towers compared:

Got all the plastic parts scrubbed down clean and everything back together...

Drilled the holes in the shock tower for the new wing mounts:

Installed MIP axles and put limiters on the shock shafts to reduce max shock compression.
doh
Hit a snag... the rear CF tower is thicker than factory so it pushes the gearbox backwards and causes a bind in the chassis.
I need to shave 1mm off the back of the battery bulkhead to fit the rear tower without causing a bind. I wonder if fiberlyte knows this...

Re: Vintage Traxxas RUNNERS only
I thinned out my Traxxas collection to a single SRT and TCP... Lately I've been tinkering with my old SRT....
Here's the latest shots of the SRT. Just installed the 8.5T sensored motor. Bumped the timing on the motor and soldered 5mm bullet connectors to the wires.

Re: Vintage Traxxas RUNNERS only
well if you thin down anything it looks like you kept the best of what I'd think about from Traxxas...maybe a trx1 should sit by its younger siblings though

Tested a lot of setups and ended up putting together my favorite combo on this one.klavy69 wrote: it looks like you kept the best of what I'd think about from Traxxas...
