Hi all.
I have put a list of my vintage buggies weights ready to run. As i have most of my runners ready for the vintage festival i thought i would do some weight watchers comparison .. These are my weights with 2.2 wheels. Li Po battery unless otherwise stated.
Please note this not just Kyosho but all my runners i'm keen to take.
Original Ultima. Turbo spec except body. 1213g ( No battery Brusless Z Run combo)
Turbo Optima. 1527g ( With battery, LRP Quantum esc.)
Lazer ZX 1630g ( Li Po saddels , Z run combo)
Top Cat 1119g . ( No battery , Lrp Quantum esc)
Samurai 1261g ( No battery, Alloy wheels, )
Thunder Shot. ( No battery, Custom Wing kit) 1327g
Big Wig 1385g ( Uni's all round, Z run combo)
Li Po Battery hard case 3300 198g..
What surprised me is the Turbo Optima was not much fatter than the Mini Mustang. .
The Ultima is full turbo spec but has a brushless set up while the Top Cat is with a silver can motor. Still only 15g in it.
Will update weights with more runners when i can.

Re: Vintage car weight comparisons ( Runners)
Don't know how close my kitchen scale is to yours, but some weight from other cars (without batteries):
Tamiya Striker 1208g (with Tamiya CVA shocks replacing the springs, Sanwa BL Fighter ESC, 27T stock motor and motor heat sink)
Trinity Evolution 10 Mk.II 872g
(with LRP Sphere Competition and 7.5T BL motor)
Tamiya TA01 rally truck 1342g (LRP mini ESC + 23T Yokomo stock motor, carbon chassis, shock towers, full options)
Tamiya F102 w/ touring car body 827g (with cheap Sanwa electronics)
Tamiya Group C 909g (LRP IPC Super Sport ESC, 27T stock motor)
Tamiya TA03 full options 1349g (Hobbywing ESC + BL motor, light set for body - actually, I'm shocked this one weighs more than the TA01)
Tamiya FF01 1042g (with various alloy parts, LRP IPC ESC, FET servo)

Re: Vintage car weight comparisons ( Runners)
thanks for the comparisons, however its a bit pie in the sky with each car having a different config (motors, esc's, batteries etc) would be best if it were raw chassis with wheels

Re: Vintage car weight comparisons ( Runners)
I agree with proffesso, at least with regards to batteries. There are too many kinds of batteries that they add way too much variability to a weight comparison. I'm fine with a weight comparison that includes a motor, though, because most cars are/were sold with motors and the weight stated on the box included the motor weight; but cars were rarely sold with batteries.
I'm not sure why Mark made more than one thread about this--one thread in the RC Tech Forum that everyone can add their measurements to would be ideal.
