My lexan blackfoot project

Post by rctenracer »

This truck has JG shock mounts and front shock tower brace. Parma spindles. And a few CRP parts. I mounted a roll bar on the lexan body with some repro KC decals . I had to make some 1/8 inch spacers for the front roll bar mount to level it out. I have set of repro blackfoot decals to finish it . I just have to take a few days to paint it. I also have a set of SEE'S rims for it.

Verry cool looking. That body is more rare than the original. what design are the see's wheels you plan to put on it?

I didn't know that about the parma F-150 body. Here is a pic of another one I have . I purchased the bodies from tower about two years ago.The see's rims are the ten hole rims #2010, #2000 and the knock offs that I purchased from brandon.

They even include "blackfoot" on the decal sheet. 8)

Very Nice! Thanks for the Pic's. Wish mine looked that good. Oh, and thanks for the link to the parma body. I need a couple of those.

Can't wait to see the painted body. Your truck and mine could almost be siblings, but mine is based on an RC10 conversion. I did try to make the paint job similar to the original Blackfoot, I just did the reverse. Also, inspired by the colors of the old Chi Town Hustler funny car. I love the fact that a 20 year old body is still available to buy new. Here's mine,

these are nice,i really like the old blackfoots (and rc10 trucks with blackfoot bodys).the lexan body really add to the ride of the truck and let you not care as much if you rool it over (or jump it off a huge mound of dirt ) .. this reminds me i have to work on my project blackfoots..i have a few runners and a blackfoot shelf queen that i can now complete thanks to my good buddy Grumbles. he gave me a nice original blackfoot body to complete the project..i really got to get on that...

That's pretty cool. I have four old blackfoots and I just got a set of aluminum wheels today. I have the parma body also. It looks good but it cracks really easily where the cab and bed meet. The lexan is really thin right there.

I will paint it soon my plan is to use a set of blackfoot decals so it looks like the boxart. Maybe tamiya will see it and rerelease the blackfoot with the hard body and lexan body like they did with the brat. i also what to do the other one with a set of repro F150 decals . maybe we will see a ranger since they are doing a rerelease rough rider.
