It's solid (the black dot you see is for the set screw that holds it to the shaft). It's a cool part though. I got one (along with a Thorp) and the solid gear is heavy...makes a heavy srb that much heavier.
It reminds me though....what is the re-re's gear box gonna hold? Any halfway modern motor will cook it if they still have the plastic idler and final gears. More speculation for that "Exciting News" thread i guess.

I have that brass solid diff/spool also, I got mine new in pack some years ago its made by RCH...

thats not so bad the RCH part, im happy i guess lol. cant wait for them to re-release the car. i am sure it wont have a ball diff, but who knows with tamiya. Maybe someone will re-re the ball diff since they car is being redone
