Sprint car Projects

Post by Bent »

I was surfing the net a couple weeks ago and came across a ad at this other site that I do a bit of shopping at. I came across a ad that was labled Vintage Sprint Car All Metal frame FOR TRADE ONLY. So I contacted the guy and he told me what he wanted and what he had. So I went to craigs list and found a add that said WTT LOTS OF STUFF, so I looked and he had a nitro traxxas, of course I contacted him and he said he would trade it for a surround system. KACHEENG!!!! I have that going to wasted in storage and the guy with the sprint want's nitro. I set the deal and we was good to go on both ends, I would go trade the traxxas and then head out to get the sprint. However the S**t with the traxxas backed out at the last minute, so I was screwed, I was gonna get negative feed back and have to deal with that on the other site.. BUT! My lil brother traded his Slash he had on here for a Losi muggy RTR and did it ever. So I contacted the guy with the "Vintage Sprint Car" and told him about it and told him what we wanted and he said bring it so I did that next sunday and he didn't want to do the deal that day cause it wasn't fully rtr and I left some stuff at the house. Only thing it needed was a throttle linkage (25 damn dollars. For that part) so my little brother got that on there and we took it to him again a week later tjis past week end. Long story short we got that sprint car, a rc10 with a kyosho sideways cage and a nother junky looking car, 3 spare chassis with bits and pieces and 5 motors all is under a 15t, meaning 12's 13's ect, as well as a like new novak rooster esc a mini reciever and 2 radios. As well as a full metal cage for another car. Oh yeah and a orange Kline with rc10 rear end and arms. Oh and we got a couple plastic cages for a sprint, and a spare trans and lastly a brand new sprint body, and a brand new imca modified body. We got other stuff to but dont member what oh yeah wheels & tires and front suspension for the kline. All and all we got 2 rtr cars and 2 rollers and all the spare parts and bits. All this for a boat and the muggy. Yeah he traded a rtr all original clod for a damn nitro boat.
My little brother asked me to build the Kline and another and he would give me the imca body and a one the sprints to run. Obviously I said HELL YEAH! so a day later I have sore finger tips and 2 full rollers plus and almost rolling kline for him. plus his full metal rtr he tore down and resprayed. Well enjoy the pics and please feel free to comment. PS I still need to clean them more.

Ok this is the one I am callintg a Kline Because rc10 stuff dont fit the nose and thats what the PO said it was. I rebuilt the trans and finneshed assebly with what I had. It still likes a few items to be a roller and 100% complete but it is close. All I need to get this where I want it is add the bar on the roof and add two upper arms. (I ferget the name of them bars) And give it a good bath.

I would love to run this car insted of the other but I have not got the steering componants nor do I know where to get them. So if you have some to spare please shoot me a price.

This is the end result obviously.

Here is the modified I built up for him. I Startted with a box of parts and ended here. I have already gave it one bath but I need to tear the arms off and rewash them.

I have just started this one but I swapped the cage and adeed steering bell cranks out of a Kyosho I think or a xt and I still have a lot to get done here.

Pardon any and all errors I have a broken tooth from a scrap yesterday and no way to fix till sat. Please enjoy the pics and PLEASE comment back.

Nice...if you ever want to sell any of them let me know...I read your message about the tires and rims I need a pair of original white rims for an RC10...or I guess the dish ones might work for me as well..

It is a..... well we call it an associated. It has assoc. direct drive rear end out of a rc10L it has a custom made frame with assoc. gold pan front shocks and associated wheels and axel carriers on the front with 10L rears. I dont know if the axel front is hand made or not. and the rest is steering arms thats it. It does have a 12T motor. I have a Novac rooster esc.

I haven't seen that thread before and I'm still a little stunned, that's really hard to digest all the work that went into that sprinter. Very cool, definitely one of a kind.
