Grandson's new built runner
My grandson came for a 3 week visit and he was promised he could help build an RC10 "for his own use". We started with the premise that this was to be a runner not a shelfer but maybe still could look nice. I was a little surprised how much time it took to make a good runner as it has been about 23 years since I built our original RC10. The initial build was not difficult but then just assembling doesn't mean the parts work together without manipulation to make everything copesthetic. Sam is 10 and did most of the original assembly but when we got to painting, fitting and debugging the electronics I was doing and he was watching. My idea was to "pay it forward" which was the title of a popular movie a few years back.
I learned that when it comes to electronics you can't beat modern stuff as we used a Tactic Radio system which finds any open freq and makes life so easier if you go to a track to drive it, then also a new ESC was fitted to allow the 17 turn motor I gave him and now we also have reverse. This car actually turned out so nice I was thinking of offering him a Slash in exchange but then thought better of it.
Sam it was great to do this with you I hope you enjoy your RC10 as much as I did doing it with you.

That's cool looking ride. Why would he want a Slash, for the RC10? LOL I always try to "Pay It Forward" just a good policy.

Re: Grandson's new built runner
I BOUGHT 2 OF THOSE RADIOS FOR MY BOYS.-----No frequency crystal changes no reciever antenna wire and no Radio antenna life in RC doesn't get any better than that. you can bind multiple recievers to the same radio even though it doesn't have memory--OOOOHHHH YYYAAAAA

Re: Grandson's new built runner
The chassis I used is the 1st kit chassis I bought 23 years (1986) ago for my son and it is an Edinger.
Now Sam will have to carry on with it.
