I'm surprised that no one mentioned dying the plastic parts red.

It would look cool with bright red parts! Stay away from dark red dye and watch the pot as it boils so you get the right red colour!

pull the parts out earlier than you think you should... you may THINK the color is still too light but it will darken as it cools and also over time. you can put them back in if you dont get them dyed good enough.
