Craig'slist JRX2 bonanza
Craig'slist JRX2 bonanza
So at lunch today I staterd surfing and found this for 50 bucks. I went and picked it up after work and I'm very happy with it. The car itself looks like an early JRX2 - well used but not destroyed. It will get a total makeover. The best part though was all the junk that came with it! Some of it is spares, some of it is tools, some is just junk but there is some really cool stuff too. Who can tell me about that brand new Joel Johnson Speedworks motor? Is it special at all? Is it old? The blue wheels might have been dyed but I can't tell. Did Losi ever make any blue?

the joel johnson motor is just a 27 turn stocker. looks to be in nice shape, though. came out in '90 or so.
as for the blue rims, i'd say they're dyed.

no soak them in acetone to get the tires off then purple power this will remove the glue and dirt. I just need rears. I am on the fence I am getting ready to build another Junior 2. I have the XX white ones. I am thinking about doing another one like the one you have with all of the rpm arms, XX rims.

The only Losi wheels that don't like acetone are the early light orange ones.
Always test on an inconspicuous spot prior to, regardless!

Rick and Brandon, thank you for the advice. I will be careful since these white wheels seem to be quite rare. Rick, I have three rears so I could send you one if you want, and now I have four fronts, two new that I got from you and the two used i got with this car. I might try to remove the blue dye from the other set but I suspect they won't be perfect and will need to be redyed.

Thanks but I think I will be doing the XX conversion like I did on the 3 cars you got from me. have you ran the Pro Se yet?
Re: Craig'slist JRX2 bonanza
Ummm. I wish. I have been such a slacker this summer! I have not run anything, and barely messed with any rc stuff until I bought the Schumacher. It's like a light just went on. sent you a pm.

OK, it's not quite done but I could not resist throwing up a picture or two. I worked on this car all weekend and I'm pretty pleased with the results. This is technically the same car although I threw a bunch of new parts at it, reusing what was still nice. The body shell is Mr. Lexan's, just a rough trim so far - nice to work with though. Thanks Rick! That orange wheeled car is one i put together with parts that you provided. It has the long chassis and the Bluegroove body. Here is a group shot od all my JRX2's. Recognize any of those?
