RC10 basher

Post by rctenracer »

I have alot of RC10's they are my favorite. Here in dearborn at hemlock park I have seen a group of guys running some tamiya buggies. They just bash the hell out of them . I am not a basher but looked like alot of fun to take a car and try to destory it. Isn't that what bashing is all about. So I decided to take part in the bashing . I took all my WORN out RC10 parts and built a basher . I cracked one TQ chassis and replaced it with another TQ that I drilled for a stealth. What the hell why throw away worn parts when you can beat the hell out of them. I have a old viper body for it going to do a andy's paint job on it. The tamiya guys are loking for parts Im just looking for paint. Like I say I don't like bashing the hell out of RC cars but the parts I used are not worth selling .

I don't get it. None of the cars in the photos seem to be "basher" material. Am I missing something?

It may look ok in the pics . All the shocks leak and most of the white parts are worn or have had the threads stripped out.The chassis had a lot of holes drilled in it and i filled them with jb weld. The picture of the painted car isn't mine but i like the paint job and thats how I want to paint this one. Just something I put together to beat on.

Not always. I always thought of bashing as the alternative to paticipating in sanctioned races. Wether it be at a park, parking lot, tennis court or back yard. Just running them to have fun. I 'bash' my 12L4 and have no intent on deliberate destruction.

Good point . But how many RC10 guys want junk parts? the parts used have CA in them to hold the screws . The TQ chassis is beat up.

I understand what you're saying. If you got parts not good for much else, then yea I wouldn't worry about destroying it. I'm just saying the term has a double meaning. :D

The bashing my friends and I used to do was something like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtVd2_kUMBA They weren't exactly splitting the atom in their spare time. I always drove.

I was thinking the same thing. Even with the leaky shocks it's still a decent looking car that I wouldn't want to just bash. LOL I'd save that for the Radio Shack cars. Either way have fun, and get some video so we don't have to look at bowling with fat kids anymore. :P

I picked up some parts on ebay. I have the car taken apart so I can replace the parts with stripped out holes. No more bashing.

thanks for the comment. I have the front end rebuilt now using new and like new parts and painted a second viper body for it. I just have to finish the rest of the car.

Looks real nice! I'm glad you changed your mind about using it as a basher 8)
